According to the dictionary, a resolution is a “firm decision to do or not to do something”. When it comes to resolutions on January 1st, we are so excited to write them down on a piece of paper and we tell everyone. We think we will stick to that resolution no matter what. Then….life happens. We get sick, we are tired, we are broke, and we find some excuse to not move forward. I skipped my workout because I had a doctor’s appointment and then went out to lunch. This pattern continues and you go downhill again. Your resolution no longer matters to you. Why? Resolutions are all about mindset. If you firmly believe you will make it happen, then nothing will stop you. For example, your resolution is to eat better and lose 20 pounds this year. There is nothing stopping you except yourself for accomplishing this goal. Make it happen no matter what gets in your way. Life will always get in the way. Push past the adversity and make it happen! You just have to believe it and you can achieve it.
